NZ Womens Golf Open

Time out for  refreshments on a hot day at the final round of the NZ Womens Golf Open.  It was held at the new course at Pegasus a new town built north of Christchurch.

Golf Girls

These smart girls played this morning to avoid the heat and are now enjoying a cold one while we go and do battle in 30 degrees.

Wall Art?

Took the plastic bottles from the golf club to the recycling center and was intrigued by this wall art.

Out on the bike and found a lake with these black and white ducks.

Out on the bike to get some practice on a gravel road in training for the rail trail.

Another very warm day expecting 29.In fact got to 35!

Water, the life blood of Mid Canterbury on another very warm day. Cropping is finished so now its winter feed.

Frodo

Went and picked up Sandy's new mate Frodo today.  A bit of hissing and growling on Frodos part with Sandy retreating under the bed.  But they are getting to accept each other slowly

Took a bit of tip toeing through the thistles to get there but was worth it for the shots .

The game is - Sandy kicks it under the fridge so we get to fish it out, again & again & again... Fills in a wet day. Roll on the arrival of the new play mate.

Not much of a day so caught up on some Golf Club work.

Back on the Tee

 

Here we go, 1st off the tee but unfortunately  that was the only time in the round as Sally was just too good & went on to win  the comp of the day.  I only had 2 bad holes so considering how rusty I am I wasn't too disappointed in my score.

Tyres Pumped

 

First day back at golf tomorrow after 15 months off so have got the trundler tyres pumped & I'm ready to go!

Cold Aussie

Bill & Roz's last night with us so out for a meal at Braided Rivers.  Billy got the seat closest to the fire to keep him and his Monteiths warm and its only February!

Trial's Day

Wendy's new horse "Red" gets a rub down after a pleasing run at the trials today.

Muddy Waters

 Bill and Roz are visiting from Cairns.

Muddy Waters is a nice drop but who knows what murky waters are being discussed here!

Cultural Cuisine

Local people of differnt nationalities held a food fare in the street outside the Art Gallery today so Sally & I went down to try something different  for lunch.  Sal had a Filipino dish made of Pig head meat and pig liver mixed with chillies and peppers served on rice. I wasn't game so had a couple of Romanian sausages  no idea what was in them but sure could taste them for rest of the afternoon.

Very interesting and lots of tempting aromas.

New Zealand Day

Waitangi Day to day or as most NZ's prefer, NZ Day. We had a wedding and the bride showed her national pride

Sues new phone.

Friday night again and drinks at my place outside in the sun, very pleasant and look everyone Sue's got a new phone!

Hair cut day

Time for a tidy up and Karen our mobile hairdresser is just the person to do it.

Golf Coach

Cleared to get back into golf after 2 ops on my shoulder which resulted in 15 months of not playing,  I decided to have a couple of lessons. Went really well so now will go out and play on my own a couple of times before I venture back on club days.

Walking OP Shop.

Back up to ChCh today with Wendy and saw this colouful old girl in Riccarton Mall while having lunch. Her hat had all sorts of toys sewed to it.  She looked like a walking OP Shop.

Dew

Over to the golf club for the Monday morning cleaning and there was dew on the greens, Steve was hard at it mowing.
